Our Mission
Working to further the cause of science, education and public understanding of natural resource issues as well as general charity and giving.
Our Purpose
Grants from the Foundation are made to support scientific and educational projects related to forestry and resource education as well as grants for charitable endeavors. Grants may also be made to other projects dealing with forest and natural resource activities which meet the requirements of the Foundation and comply with state and federal law. The Foundation looks for proposals that have the promise of broad-scale or long-term impact on significant needs of society, be they natural resource-related or charitable endeavors. ![]() History
Founded in 1997 with the desire of Associated Oregon Loggers, Inc. to fulfill a meaningful role in activities in the public interest offered by and through the Foundation. To fulfill the purpose the perspective of natural resource producers. These producers are the individuals and groups that produce the food, fiber and other needs of society from the natural resource base of this state. Board of Directors

The Friends of Paul Bunyan charter requires that there be a (minimum) of a 5% spend of the value in the forms of grants given each year. Since 1997 the Friends of Paul Bunyan Foundation has granted more than $780k to over 31 different
organizations in support of Forestry education. The Foundation is seeking proposals that have the promise of broad-scale, long term impact on significant needs of society which are provided by our forest resources. |
