H-2B Supplemental Visa Release Near

Friday, May 6, 2022   (0 Comments)
On May 3rd, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) sent the second half cap supplemental H-2B rule to the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) for review. This review is the last step in the regulatory process before the rule is published and becomes final. AOL's federal partner, Forest Resources Association (FRA), expects the rule to be published on Monday, May 9th. On March 31st, the DHS announced that the agency would release an additional 35,000 H-2B visas to address the needs of seasonal employers who are struggling to find American workers to meet labor needs. On April 11th, the H-2B Workforce Coalition sent a letter to the DHS and Department of Labor encouraging the agencies to release the visas immediately. FRA is a member of the H-2B Workforce Coalition Steering Committee and AOL is a member of FRA.
