AOL Gives Back
AOL members give back to their communities in a variety of ways. As an organization, AOL participates in community involvement through Log A Load for Kids and the Friends of Paul Bunyan Foundation. Log A Load For Kids® is a nationwide giving campaign through which loggers and others contribute to local Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals to provide medical care to kids in need, regardless of their families’ ability to pay. The Friends of Paul Bunyan Foundation accepts grant applications for projects that support forestry related science based natural resource education projects in Oregon schools, fund forest management research projects, inform the public relative to forestry related natural resource issues of importance to concerned citizens, and support programs that are related in a meaningful way to forest related human resources. The Friends of Paul Bunyan Foundation grants money to (non-profit) organizations which are engaging in promotion and advancement in Forestry and Workforce education related to forest (operator) careers. AOL sponsors Oregon Log A Load For Kids, as part of a national fund-raising campaign for the forest products community to participate in the Children's Miracle Network (CMN) campaign. Oregon Log A Load For Kids raises funds for charitable donation to three local CMN children's hospitals-- OHSU Doernbecher Children's Hospital, PeaceHealth Sacred Heart Medical Center, and Asante Rogue Regional Medical Center. AOL supports Log A Load For Kids by covering all administrative costs for an annual fundraising golf tournament and dinner auction—so every dollar donated goes directly to help children in need of medical care. Loggers, forest owners, mills, and allied harvest businesses in Oregon join together to support a most worthwhile cause- medical care for our children.
