To make an impact in state and federal policymaking, Associated Oregon Loggers deploys an effective mix of direct lobbying and coalition efforts with partners to shape regulations. When we work with our partners and allied organizations we leverage more resources and expand our reach to inform policymakers about issues affecting forest contractors and the natural resource industries of Oregon.

Fighting for greater timber supply and increased management of public lands requires an all hands on deck approach. We pool our efforts with like-minded coalitions to seek increased contracting from public forests.

But we also work with partners outside of the timber industry to influence change. Because AOL represents small businesses, we also work with business groups and individual companies on issues affecting the cost to operate in Oregon. These issues span topics such as taxes, labor law and insurance. 

We can't be as effective a voice for our members without engaging in a broad spectrum of coalitions!
