Skilled forest specialists perform important technical operations.

Forest technicians are integral to planning and implementing forest management activities throughout the many decades-long span of a forest lifecycle.  Modern Oregon forest management has evolved for more than a century to include contemporary technology, methods and science.  Revolutionary improvements have spawned many specialized types of operations and their “technicians” employed to manage today’s demanding forest objectives.

There are many specialized forestry operations and occupations that perform technically-demanding work outdoors in forest.  Forest technicians commonly work independently, in pairs, or with a crew.  Technician operations require specialized training, often including some college education or certificates, attention to detail, safe teamwork, as well as ample experience.
