AOL is working with Oregon Society of American Foresters (OSAF) to support the development and roll out of a credentialing for students who participate in the Future Natural Resources Leadership (FNRL) which is a CTE (Career and Technical Education) program. We are excited to work to support educational program which engages students in real world technical experience – especially when it includes training in skills which support our industry. For more information on FRNL check out their website (https://www.oregonfnrl.org/home).
A quick snippet on why we care about CTE programs according to e-dynamic learning “…students enrolled in CTE programs have a graduation rate of 93% compared to the national freshman average of 80%. And according to ACTE, “taking one CTE class for every two academic classes minimizes the risk of students dropping out of high school.” There is a lot of evidence that CTE education matters – and we are engaged to support and expand access for programs which drive potential employees to our industry. Providing a credential which recognizes specific industry skills will allow our employers to know specifically at what level these students are performing in certain skill areas.
