Exertional Rhabdomyolysis.  Know the facts and why it is important to you!
This week Oregon has seen extreme temperatures that have been well over 100 degrees. Many timberlands have been at an IFPL 4 and we are currently in Extreme Fire Danger for most of the State.

With these high temperatures, there have been an increased number of dehydration and heat exertion claims from the workforce.

Rhabdomyolysis, aka “Rahbdo”, is one of the most serious heat related injuries. According to the National Wildfire Coordinating Group, here are some important points that you will want to know:

Risk Factors

  • Muscle cramping, swelling, and/or weakness
  • Stiffness and decreased range of motion
