New Program for Small Landowners Affected by the 2020 Labor Day Wildfires

Friday, September 15, 2023   (0 Comments)
A new program has been developed by Sustainable Northwest and the USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service to fund the restoration of many non-industrial private forest properties affected by the 2020 Labor Day Wildfires. The Forest Landowner Post-Fire Recovery Assistance Program helps smaller non-industrial forest landowners that may lack resources to accomplish site prep, obtain seedling supplies for replanting upland areas, and address hazardous fuels. It can be a win-win for landowners and forest operators who may complete these types of work tasks.

If eligible, this program pays for the restoration, and the landowner will owe nothing. It would be well worth it to learn more about this program if you work with small woodland owners as a joint benefit for your business and the landowner.

To find out more about the program and eligibility requirements, and to fill out an application, apply online.
