Despite opposition from AOL and many in the business community, the Oregon Legislature last summer passed a challenging new law, Senate Bill 592, which increases fines employers must pay if they are found in violation of Oregon OSHA requirements.
The law also introduced changes to workplace inspections and investigations by the Oregon OSHA and Oregon Department of Consumer and Business Services (DCBS).

In the coming weeks, and once the final Rules are published, AOL will provide member employers with additional guidance.
AOL aims to assist with effective ways to manage your employee safety programs under the altered penalty paradigm—once it is finalized.
