BREAKING NEWS – DHS Increases Cap for Critical H-2B Visa Workers for 2024

Friday, November 3, 2023   (0 Comments)

Today, the Department of Homeland Security, with the Department of Labor, announced that it expects to make an additional 64,716 H-2B temporary nonagricultural worker visas available for Fiscal Year 2024. These visas are in addition to the 66,000 H-2B visas already available, bringing the total number of H-2B visas available to 130,716.

This will include 20,000 visas to workers from Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Haiti, and Honduras. In addition, 44,716 supplemental visas would be available to returning workers who received an H-2B visa, or were otherwise granted H-2B status, during one of the last three fiscal years.

While in Washington DC with the Forest Resources Association last month, AOL spoke with 10 Congress people about this need and fix. We are proud to support these efforts and advocate for our members’ needs.
