Cybercrime Safety: Protect Yourself from Impersonation Scams

Impersonation scams, also known as phishing scams, are a common form of cybercrime, which involve an unknown person, called a scammer, pretending to be an entity that you have a relationship with, in order to trick you into revealing personal information for them to impersonate you, or to steal from you. 
 
These scams can be very convincing with realistic sounding voices, faked caller ID, copied photos, and authentic looking forms, emails, and websites. They target anyone, regardless of their age, location, or level of technical expertise.
