David Grim, AOL’s Safety and Health Manager, comes to us as a 4th generation Oregon logger. Growing up in NW Oregon, he worked for his families logging company bringing extensive knowledge and experience with long span cable logging, helicopter logging, mechanized logging and road construction. David earned a Masters Degree in Public Health, specializing in Environmental and Occupational Health and Safety from Oregon State University. In addition to the timber industry, David brings professional safety experience in the oil and gas sector. Having worked for both public and private entities he has a broad understanding of how marketplaces and business work in addition to how the regulatory environment comes together.  This gives him an advantage when advocating for member needs and employers around the state. He is excited to bring his personal and professional experiences together in an effort to help ensure that logging remains a viable industry for Oregon’s working families and for future generations. 

In his off time, he is an avid horseman and you can find him competing in team roping or cowboy mounted shooting on his horse, Dennis, with his friends and family. He also enjoys being outdoors, going for drives in the woods, BBQ’s, camping and most importantly, spending quality time with his family.
